  • On Wednesday 10th May the SDC Midlands Region is staging a half-day seminar ‘Evolution and Design Leicester’, hosted at De Montfort University and held in the Design Wing of the Vijay Patel Building in the Lecture Hall on the 4th floor.

    Welcome and reception with tea and coffee from 1pm with the Mayor of Leicester, Sir Peter Soulsby, starting the proceedings with the opening address.

    Speakers include:

    Sophie Kinns – Childrenswear print designer, Joules – ‘Design within retail’

    Gillian Proctor MDes RCA – Principal Lecturer and Course Leader for Contour Fashion, School of Design, De Montfort University – ’70 years of Evolution & Design in Contour Fashion’.  Followed by Jessica Prebble, a graduate of Contour Fashion, now with a successful lingerie brand Tuttie Rouge

    Graham Clayton – Chief Executive, SDC – ‘Lifelong learning colour education pathway’

    John Dakin – Director, VeriVide Ltd – ‘There is no colour without light’

    Q&A session chaired by Kathy Dickinson, Senior Lecturer, NTU and Chair of SDC Midlands Region
