  • SDCEC India Started National Student Competition in 2007 for under graduate and post graduate textile students for their research paper. Its called ‘Young Talent Search’. Its very popular in students across the India.

Its 8th National Student Competition YOUNG TALENT SEARCH was organised and declared in the month of September .

The competition is in the form of paper presentation. Mode of Competition would be a 10 minute Presentation using Microsoft Power Point by authors, followed by Q&A. Cash prizes will be given to the winner and runner ups in the categories of (i) Technical and (ii) Fashion/ Design. Entries were invited from the Fashion and Textile colleges of India.

The theme for this year competition was, “Best from Waste “.

As consumerism is on the rise, so is the waste being generated both by the users and the industry? It has become imminent that the waste be put to good use ie. Recycled and create value from it. This not only eases the burden of agencies engaged in the waste management to either incinerate or create landfills which in turn harms the environment & uses large amounts of energy but we can generate profits from Recycling .

We invite research papers directed towards making “Best from Waste” in any criteria. The Idea & Research must be unique and original and must have some commercial viability..

This year we have received total 39 entries from 21 colleges across the India. We have received 20 Papers for Textile Section and 19 papers for Fashion section.

on 24th and 26th Judges evaluated all the entries we have received for the competition. It was tough to decide on the select group chosen for final round, because of competitive entries by the students.

6 entries from from each section have been shortlisted and these students will present their papers in front of the judges on 10th march 2018.
